WEEK-END SPORT

CRICKET AND BOWLING EVENTS ON THE HARBOUR An interesting programme of varied sporting attractions has been arranged to take place this afternoon. Cricket matches will be continued on city and suburban grounds, and the final of the bowling pennant competition between Helensville and Stanley is to be decided at Remuera, and other games are arranged at numerous club grounds. On the harbour, races for many different classes of yachts are to take place. The Devonport Yacht Club will hold its annual Regatta, and there is to be a race for the midget class by the Richmond Cruising Club, off the Ponsonby "Wharf. Two cruising races are scheduled, by the Manukau Yacht and Motor-boat Club and the Point Chevalier Club.

The sport of rowing will bo strongly represented this afternoon, when a series of club trial events is to take place. At the St. George's Club the Thomas Dingley Memorial Cup is to be decided, the Walker and Hall trophies and the Henderson Cup at Auckland, tho Clancy pairoar cups final at West End, Schmidt tiophy trials at North Shore, and Foreman double sculls at Waitemata. The majority of the clubs will row on the course fronting Tamaki Drive.

Amateur athletic fixtures include the championships arranged by the Technical Old Boys' Club, which are to take place at New Lynn. At cycling there is to be a meeting at tho Papatoetoe Stadium, under the auspices of the Auckland Club.
