EPSOM TROTTING NOTES

CIMARRON IN WORK AGAIN BY ABAYDOS The three-year-old pacer Cimarron has been recommissioned by I. G. Morrison, and looks very bright after his spell. Cimarron has not shown his true form since coming to Auckland, although he has on accasions given glimpses of his rare speed on the track at Epsom. When he strikes his best form he will not be long in losing his maiden status.

Oliver Thorpe has been returned to W. Willetts. who formerly trained him. Nell Volo has returned to the tracks after a short spell, and the highly-bred American trotting mare has benefited from the holiday. She became sore during the Christmas meeting, but has made a good recovery. With the prospects of softening tracks for the rest of the season, Nell Volo should have ample opportunity to add further to her list of successes for F. J. Smith. Poi continues to go along in the right way in her work and is in great hea.it to tackle serious tasks. She has furnished into a solid type of mure since joining Smith's stable, but owing .to there being no suitable classes at the various meetings held so far this season, she has not been given a solid preparation. By giving away one second Poi will bo able to race in the 3.28 class at Tji"' Stafford owner of Pageant baa decided to leave his pacer at Epsom for forthcoming meetings, and with the sting out of the ground the Logan Pointer gelding should have line prospects of picking up a stake.
