BISHOP OF BRISTOL
NEW APPOINTMENT REV. C. S. WOODWARD (Received February 10, 11.45 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 10 The Rev. C. S. Woodward, Cation of Westminster, who recently refused the Bishopric of Christchurch, has been appointed Bishop of Bristol. The new Bishop of Bristol has been Canon of Westminster and Rector of St. John tho Evangelist, Westminster, since 1926. He was chaplain to the King in 1919. He was educated at Marlborough and Jesus College, Oxford, and became a deacon in 1902. He was canon and Precentor of Southwark Cathedral and rector of St. Saviour with St. Peter, Southwark, 1913-19, and vicar of St. Peter's, Cranley Gardens, London, 1919-26.
