YESTERDAY'S WEATHER
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH Auckland. —After a showery morning, conditions cleared later in the day, and the later part of the morning and afternoon were fine, with sunshine and a lightsoutherly wind. Toward evening the sky clouded, and scattered showers fell. Th® barometer fell steadily all day and tha reading at midnight was very low, only 29.50 in. being registered. . • Wellington.—A strong northerly wind was blowing yesterday and the skj was overcast. The temperature was warm. Christchurch.—The weather was fine for most of the day with a strong northwest wind which changed later in '« afternoon to the south-west and rain « •gan to fall. The maximum temperature was 77 degrees. The barometer had dropp* to 28.95 in. at 5 p.m., but with the chanfi in the. wind commenced a steep rise. Dunedin.— Fine but dull we * ther w }jen vailed until yesterday afterno rain commenced to fan. A tie- # -. a fCeC breeze was blowing. The baromete , falling to 29.02 in. at 2 p.m., and registered 2940 m. in the evening.
