SPEEDWAY RACING
WESTERN SPRINGS EVENTS PROGRAMME FOR TO-NIGHT Thrilling races between two of the most skilful cinder-track riders in the world, E. Langton and W. Phillips, both of England, will place at Western Springs Speedway this evening. A large crowd is expected if the weather is fine. The two prominent visiting riders will take part in a series of three'match races, each over four laps from a rolling start. The race's should prove of exceptional in-i--C«rest, as Langton is the world's champion, while Phillips gained more points in match races last year than any other rider in England. An even', that should provide excitement, is a race between motor-cars driven by G. Smith and R, E. Hemus, two local racing drivers. The two ears will provide an amusing contrast, Smith's being a heavy Roosevelt and Hemus' a tiny Austin Set-en. The programme will be much the same as that arranged for last Saturday, when rain made it necessary to postpone the meeting. There will, however, he several additional events, and the racing will therefore commence at 8 o'clock instead of 8.35 /fas usual. The track has been carefully prepared for the occasion, and times should be fast,
