TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

THE FINAL DAY Perfect weather conditions have prevailed throughout the week for the Auckland provincial tenuis championships, which commenced on Wednesday last at the Stanley Street courts, and concluded yesterday afternoon. In spite of the large number of matches played by the contestants, and the dry spell of weather this month, in Auckland,. the lawns were in good condition. A large number of onlookers attended and as the finals were decided the players were enthusiastically applauded. Luncheon and afternoon tea were served in a large marquee, the tables having been arranged with bowls of prize dahlias and foliage, which were much admired. The members of the Remuera lennis Club were responsible for the tea arrangements. The prizes won during the tournament were presented at the conclusion of the afternoon.
