EXTRACTS FROM THE HERALD IMPORTANT LAND SALE The following are extracts from the New Zealand Herald of January 31, 1883: The sale of a large block of land in the North Island, known as the Kingaroa .No. 2, between Taupo and the Waikato, has just been completed. The property consists of about 47,000 acres of good ing land, nearly one-third of which is level, and possesses a frontage of 15 miles to the Waikato River. The price is, we understand, about 10s per acre. The seller is Major Wilson, of Cambridge. _ The Anglo-Australian cricket match in Sydney, which has created considerable interest, not only in New South Wales but in all the Australasian colonies, has terminated in favour of the Hon. Bligh's English team, who won the matcn by "69 runs. The Australians made a feeble stand in their second" innings, only eecui ing a score of. 83. Out of the three matches which have been c f Englishmen have thus won two. The " r ° match was won by the Australians, wi nine wickets to spare, and in the secon the English team won by one innings an 27 runs.
