GOOD WIN FOR STARLIGHT VARUNA SCORES SUCCESS CLASS H (Mullet Boats).—First prize, £G 10s; second, £2 10s; third, A. Foster and Company's trophy. From (in excellent start, Starloch crossed the line first, with Omatere, Spray and Starlight handy. Celox was late. The race started at 11.30 a.m. The finishing times were:—Starlight (3m), 3li 2m 21s; Starloch (scr), 3h 2m 20s; Omatero (ecr), 3h 4m lis; Celox (Mm), 3h 5m 20s; Spray (lOni), 3h 11m 15s. The result on corrected time was:—Starlight, 1; Spray, 2; Starloch, 3. The chainjiion flag was won by Starlight. CLASS L (Mullet Bout Type).—First prize, £7 10s; second, £3 10s; third, Milne and Choyce, Limited's trophy.

Eleven boats crossed tho line, headed by Ngaru 11., with Komuri, ITuia, Valeria, Otira and Rakoa following. Valeria met with troublo in- the channel and retired, and Otira fouled a rounding mark. Tho raco started at 11.45 a.m. The finishing times were:—Komuri (IJm), 3h 19m 21s; Varuna (8m), 3h 19m 275; Ngaru 11. (3m), 3h 19m 30s; Marie (2m), 3h 20m 475; Hum (19m), 3h 30m 425; Mowai (lGm). 3h 47m 465. The result On corrected time was:—Varuna, 1; Huia, 2; Ngaru 11., 3. The champion flag was won by Komuri.

Ngawa led tho boats away, Matariki. Winifred, Waiapu, Ngaro, Isabelle and Wairero following in that order. Allies and Lorna were Into. Winifred soon took tho lead and finished well ahead. . . Tho race started at noon. The result on corrected timo was:—Matariki, 1; Ngawa. 2; Allies, 3. The champion flag was won by Winifred. 1 OPEN BOAT CLASSES MANU WINS CHAMPION FLAG CLOSE RACE WITH MANENE CLASS M (18ft. Restricted Class).—First prize. £4; second, John Court, Liniited'e trophy. There were six starters, led by Mann, with Manene, Mawhiti, Matarere, Maroro and Maratea. following in that order. Manu and Maneno made a very closo race of it around the course, Manu beating her opponent by 235. Maroro was doing well for a time, but had a mishap and retired. The race started at 12.10 p.m. Tho finishing times were:— Manu (scr), 2h 46m 7s; Manene (scr), 2h 46m. 30s; Maratea (scr), 2h 51m 255; Mawhiti (scr), 3h Om 2s. The result was:—Manu, 1; Manene, 3; Maratea, 3. The champion flag was won by Manu. CLASS V (Open or Half-decked Boats, 18ft.) First prize, £5; second, £2 10s; third, £l. The largest fleet of the day competed in this event, and tho boats made a fine showing at the start. Avro wna first to show out, followed bjj Myßtic, Maia, Marianne, Romance, Memutu and Drone. Marianne, Paroro and Mystic drew away from tho fleet and made a close race of it. Company's trophy; third, £l. Another exceptionally large fleet got away in this event, headed by Ben Bolt, Kangatira. Tiki and Aotea. Mistral and Namu soon overhauled the leaders. Namu crossed the lino ahead of its opponent with a comfortable advantage. Demon showed tho way over the line, with Jupiter, Rahiri, Spot, Oreti, Koala, Opah and Kea next in order. Sea Gnome, which had come from the Manukau for the race, had a determined contest with Demon, and led around tho course. Thirteen boats got away, with Eleanor, Ola 11., Sheila, Nyria, Phaola. Meteor, Resolute. Shalimar nnd Yvonne showing up. The boats had not gone far before Shalimar took command and stayed ahead. The race started at 12.50 p.m. Tho finishing times were:—Shalimar (scr), 2h 50m 85b; Nyria (lljm), 2h 58m 225; Sheila (161 m), 3h 3m 103; Ola 11. The result on corrected times was:—Tamnre, 1; Phaola, 2; Shalimar, 3. CORNWELL CUP CLASS THE HONOURS SHARED CLASS Z (Takapuna one-design class).— First prize, £2; second, £1; third, 10s. An excellent start was effected in this class, which was led over the line by Ale Too, closely followed by Kitty, Trevic, Oi and Edna. Oil the lead to the first mark Kitty passed Me Too, and maintained her lead until tho finish. The race started at 10.15 a.m. The finishing times were: —Kitty (scr), 11 h slm 4s; Ale Too (80s), llh 51m 21s; Trevic (30s), llh 55m 31s; Oi (lm), llh 56m 3s; Delphine (3m), 12h lm 16s; Yuan Me (6m), 12h 7m 19s; Benny (12ra), 12h 8m 50s; Tui (scr), 12h 11m 535; Arihana (6m), 12h 13m 14s. The result on corrected times was:—Mo Too, 1; Kitty, 2; Trevic, 3. Tho champion flag was won lay Kitty.

MODEL YACHT RACES

RESULTS AT ORAKEI BASIN

A successful model yacht regatta was held at Orakei Basin in connection with the Anniversary Regatta. The function was opened by Mr. E. H. Davis, chairman, and Mr. J. C. Hewson, lion, secretary of the Anniversary Regatta Committee. The arrangements were efficiently controlled by the officials of the Orakei Basin Model Yacht Club. Owing to tho large number of entries it was impossible to complete the programme, and only the heats wore sailed. Tho finals will be decided at an early date.
