The men left about 7 o'clock in the morn ing and returned shortly after 4 p.m. The chimney of their shanty was this only part that remained intact.

The two men are heavy losers and boing on relief work their chance of making good tho loss is slight. All their bedding, blankets, cooking utensils, clothes and personal belongings wore destroyed, together with their week's supply of food. The origin of the fire is unknown, the only explanation being that a spark had blown into some inflammable material and was fanned to a blaze.
