With n little less than a furlong to go the gelding lugged in toward the rails and there was a scramble. The chief sufferers were Servius and Gesto, the latter almost coming down. Only half a neck separated Lavington from Servius at the finish, and, as the latter was knocked out of his stride, the stewards had no option but to uphold the objection. After the race F.
