ELLERSLIE TRAINING

SEVERAL HORSES SCHOOLED GOOD DISPLAY BY ABSENT PRINCE OF ORANGE'S TASK BY ARCHER The I racks at Ellerslie aro very fast at present and some good (rials should bg recorded during the next few weeks, when preparations for the Auckland Racing Club's Summer Meeting will be in full swing. The work yesterday was mostly of the useful order, ;t.nd the horses to run along were not out to make time. On the No. 2 grass Queen Arausio covered three furlongs in 39 4-ss, while Danna, Brampxon and Angie strode over the same distance in 42 3-5s Darnia and Angie aro both allowing improved condition. Wee Pat was timed to run the last, four of six furlongs in 52 3-as. She is doing her work very satisfactorily, and seems to be thrivin.it better than she was a couple of months ago. Taliais Mea and Llanore were responsible for the best sprint of thp morning in running lwlf a niihs in 50 -4-ss. Tnhae Men is on the improve, and is carrying a very bright appearance. Jewelled Girdle nnd United ran hal£ a mile in 525, and both hit out freely. United's enlarged hock docs not appear to cause him any inconvenience and ho is making steady progress. On the tan Supreme Ruler placed six furlongs behind in 1.2-1 4-5. lie has not been asked for his best since racing at Takapuna, but is thriving well and should bo improved when next ho races. Full Measure and Gay Broney were slightly in advance of Wee Prince and Patutahi at the conclusion of a round in 1.5G 3-5. These horses have been accomplishing a .jood deal of sound work, and all are looking bright Prince of Orange (H Dulieu) jumped two hurdles boldly nnd afterwards encompassed a round on the tan in 2.4 2-5. He is training on well and should be a good prospect for a hurdle race at the summer carnival. Absent (Craddock) and Demylus (Olive) were associated in a schooling bout over four hurdles, Demylus going on alone to jump another two fences. Absent has never looked better than at present, and he should be in great heart to contest (lie hurdle races at the summer meeting. Demylus is improving in his jumping, nnd his display was very satisfactory for a beginner. Tarporley. who was physicked after racing at; Takapuna. has freshened up well, and is again working regularly, lie still shows signs of soreness and docs most of his work on the tan. which is a very popular track with trainers in the summer months. Claremore is being kept in regular work and he looks very bright and healthy. If J. C. Lambess is able to get the nece.ssary work into him during the next few weeks, Claremore should make his presence felt in the hurdle races at the summer meeting. Nothing very strenuous lias been exacted from Cynthia N. and Roman Mascot since they raced at Takapuna, but both are working steadily. Cynthia N will require careful placing to will, but Roman Mascot is likely to improve nnd may not be long in opening her winning account.
