DISTRIBUTION AT THAMES

The Labour Day carnival committee, at its meeting last evening, decided to divide the £6O profit by giving £4O to the Mayor's fund for the relief of distress in the borough, and £2O to tho Miners' Union for the purchase of explosives for unemployed miners. The secretary, Mr. T. McCarroll, was voted £5 for his excellent work, but ho declined to accept payment and handed the money back to the fund.
