BRIDGE PARTY
A very pleasant bridge party, arranged by tho social committee of the Otahuhu Golf Club was held at tho residence of Dr. Gladys Rowley on Monday evening. Tho spacious drawing room, attractive with bowls of scarlet geraniums and Iceland poppies, was crowded with enthusiastic onrd players, who were received by Dr. Rowley wearing a frock of black georgette, relieved with parchment. The; ladies of the committee present were:—Mrs. A. G. Grinter, Mrs. F. Pollard, Mrs. McNeeley, Mrs. R. Wallace, M isses M. Wills. E. Hill. M. Clark, B. Wyllie and L. Hunter. The winners of the prizes for bridge were Miss D. Grinter and Mr. R. Brown, hidden numbers, and Miss A. Campbell and Mr. Orr, consolation prizes. After tlie serving of supper vocal solos and elocutionary items were pleasingly rendered by Miss Bertha Wyllie and Miss Lulu Hunter.
Among those present were:—Mrs. S. W. House, Mrs. T. Clements, Mrs. McKenzie, Mrs. D. Chapman, Mrs. Burns, Mrs. Muir, Mrs. R. B. Todd, Mrs. Eccles, the Misses E. and 0. Whitely. A. White, M. Hill, N. Dreai'don and H. Parton.
