MANGERE CLUB'S TOURNEY

A full-rink tournament was played on the Mangere Bowling Club's green yesterday under ideal weather conditions. Fourteen teams, 13 of them visitors, took part. The results were:—

Section . A, —Livingstone (Onclnmga). won the section outright with five wins. Section B resulted iu a tie between the following, ench having three wins and two losscb •—Smytheman (Papatoetoe), Henry (Ellerslie), Whyte (St. Hclicrs), do Launay (Carlton). Do Launay won tho play-off.

DOMINION COUNCIL'S RULING

WELLINGTON, Tuesday

The council of tho New Zealand Bowling Association has given tho following ruling regarding the marking of bowls;—" Bowls which are in use and which bear a distinctive mark on the large disc will ho sufficiently marked to comply with tho regulations if the numbered disc is permanently marked with tho owner's initials or \Vitli a design similar to that on the largo disc. Now bowls must bear a similar distinctive mark on both discs of each bowl."
