Sprinting in training improved his finishing powers, ann will be a good handicap man this reason.

• J- W. Savidan and N. F. Cooper both had their first outings in this event, and Ve re the backmarkers, Savidan did not really extend himself at any stage, and was fairly well back at the finish. Cooper *ent fairly hard all the way, and gained the lead coming into the straight the last without training he could not old off Clapham at the last, and had he content with second place.
