SOUTH AUCKLAND SYNOD
ANNUAL MEETING AT HAMILTON
[from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday The annual meeting of the South Auckland Methodist Synod was commenced in Hamilton to-day, the chairman of tho district, the Rev. W. Wills, of Te Awaroutu, presiding. A welcome to the visiting representatives was extended by the Mayor of Hamilton, Dr. F. D. Pinfold, at tho official opening of synod this evening Addresses of welcome were also given by the Rev. W. H. Hocking, minister of St. Paul's Methodist Church, and the Rev. En G. Bycroft, president of the Hamilton Ministers' Association.
A meeting of the Ministerial Committee was held this morning and the District Home Mission Committee met in the afternoon. Tho representative session will be held to-morrow, when synod will be concluded.
ANNIVERSARY SERVICES
WHANGAREI SUNDAY SCHOOL

WHANGAKEI, Tuesday The anniversary services of tlie Whangarei Methodist Sunday School were held yesterday and were largely attended. The church was beautifully decorated with greenery and flowers. The singing of the scholars, under Sir. H. C. Mutton, was a feature of tho services. Solos were contributed by Dulcie Stringer, Zoe Moore, Joan Garton, 11. Sage, and Rona Williams. The Rev. J. M. Blight, of .Mangonui, conducted the morning and afternoon services, and the Rev. E. E. Sage the evening service. Mr. F. W. Reed, superintendent, and Mrs. Reed, for the 19th year in succession, entertained the scholars and teachers and a large number of parents and friends to tea in the School Hall. Last evening the scholars gave their annual concert before a very large attendance, and the prizes won during the year were presented.
