BOATS AT ISLINGTON BAY

A feature of the gathering of yachtsmen at Islington Bay on Sunday, when a great number of yachts and motor-boats congregated in tho bay following tho opening cruising raco of the season, was the openair service held on tho shores of Rangitoto Island by. the chaplain of the fleet, tho Rev. Jasper Caldcr. Thero was a very good attendance of yuchtsmeiuat tho bright service. Tho service, consisting of two hymns and a short, breezy address by tho chaplain, lasted less than half an hour. At this Borvice tho new chaplain's flag, presonted to Mr. Calder by the Akarana Yacht Club, was used for tho first timo. Thrco years ago Mr. Calder was presented with tho first chaplain's Hag ever given by a yacht club in New Zoaland, but it had so much use that it was becoming vory tattered. Tho new flag is similar in design to tho old one, having the red cross of St. George und tho house flag of the Akarana Yacht Club in tho upper cornor. Tho flag is flown from the chaplain's launch on occasions to indicato that a service is to bo held.
