NEW LAUNCH DEPARTS

VOYAGE TO PICTON

WORK IN MARLBOROUGH SOUNDS

The new tourist launch Tinopai, which was launched on Saturday from the yards of the builders, Messrs. Collings and Bell, of St. Mary's Bay, sailed for Picton at 4.45 p.m. yesterday, with the owner, Captain M. Steele, and a crew of six. The final work was completed yesterday morning, when the mast, a flagpole and further seats were fitted, and stores were taken on board. The Tinopai, which will be used for passenger and tourist work on the Marlborough Sounds, will make the voyage to Picton down the east coast, calling at Tauranga, Gisborne, Napier and Wellington. The launch has a radio transmitter and a receiving set.
