WAITAKERE SCENIC DRIVE
Sir, —In the report of the October meet, ingit was stated that Mr. Bishop had assured the Waitemata County Council that the Waitakere scenic drive would be rio charge on the ratepayers. When I saw him again a few days ago he again assured me that if there was any likelihood of either the construction or maintenance being a charge on the council it would not be commenced, and I am glad to see this corroborated in the report of the last council meeting. Perhaps'this information will be of interest to those of your correspondents who have shown . concern as to whether they are going to be called upon to pay a mite toward this grand work-finding scheme. Posterity.
