SHIPPING AT AUCKLAND
A QUIET WEEK-END
MANY DEPARTURES TO-MORROW
The only arrivals and departures at Auckland during the week-end consisted of local coasters, with the exception of the Government steamer Matai, which returned to port after attending to the buoys and beacons in the Hauraki Gulf. Two steamers with passengers and mail from Australia will arrive from Sydney early this week. The Mafama, which was recommissioned last week in the intercolonial service, will arrive at seven o'clock this morning, and the Mariposa, which is en route to Los Angeles, will arrive about 10 o'clock to-morrow morning. The Mariposa has 157 passengers for Auckland and 66 for pgrts beyond.
There will bo an unusual exodus of shipping from Auckland to-morrow and the departures will include four large overseas vessels. The Rangitiki is scheduled to sail for Napier at noon, the Mataroa for Wellington at 4 p.m., the Mariposa for Los Angeles at 5 p.m. and the Otaio for Wellington later in the evening. In addition, the small vessels Waimea, Pukeko and Margaret W. will be despatched for East Coast porfs and a number of vessels for coastal ports.
