LIGHTHOUSES IN JAPAN FIRST ON MOUNTAIN TOP TOKIO, Oct. 30 The first of a number of lighthouses erected by voluntary contributions will operate in November from the summit of a mountain in the Ilakone district. This is on the main route of Japan's air lines and is equipped with revolving varicoloured lamps of 3,500,000 candle-power.
