MISSING CLERGYMAN

CAR FOUND NEAR TAURANGA NO TRACE OF DRIVER [by telegp.aph—ows correspondent] TAURANGA, Monday A motor-car identified as that in -which j the Rev. E. G. Ault, of Turua, left his | home on Saturday morning was found I by the police abandoned at Welcome j Bay, five miles fro::n the Tauranga post ! office, at 3 o'clock r.his afternoon. The | car was in good order, and was driven ; into town by Constable Davies. A search j failed to reveal any trace of Mr. Auit. j 'The place where the car was found is on I the Tauranga-Te Puke main highway, I close to a shallow and extensive arm of ! the sea. A report was received by the Auckland police on Sunday that Mr. Ault had been missing from his tome since 11.30 on Saturday morning. He left home in his motor-car, and was seen at about one o'clock near Nethertan, driving toward Paeroa. Mr. Ault is; between 40 and 50. He is sft. 9in. in .'height, and has dark hair, which is turning grey. It is reported from Waitakaruru that he was seen there at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The county engineer, Mr. F. Basham, has taken a launch to search the Maukoro canal. It is stated that on Saturday Mr. Ault was wearing a blue serge suit, fawn overcoat and fawn hat.
