PARNELL CLUB'S SEASON PROPOSAL TO DISBAND | A season of poor results was reported at the annual meeting of the Parnell Amateur Swimming Club lust evening. Toward the end of the season the interest of members had waned and in consequence there were only 3U financial members. The club suffered a financial loss in the carnival . it held in the Tepid Batti3 m conjunction with the University Club. Two gymkhanas hold in the Tepid Baths were fairly successful. Trophies were won as follows: Tui Memorial Cup, Waitemata Club; Moss Ballin Cup, R. Skinner; Wade Cup. M. i Withers; Cup, Aiiss B. Buttl©; Hunter Cup (girls), Miss Pam. Cook; Farmers' Cup (boys). Master W. Johnston .Regret was expressed at the death of a life-member, Mr. J. A. Davidson, who had been actively associated with the club since its formation IS years ago. Jieferring to a proposal that the club should disband, the president, Dr. J. A. Watson, said the club, having the Parnell Baths as its headquarters, should be one of the strongest in Auckland, lie hoped the club would continue its activities and that thero would be more keenness among members. A motion that the club should maintain its identity was carried unanimously. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr. J. S. Briglialn'; president. Dr. J. A. Watson; vice-presidents, 14 were elected, 1 lie committee being given power to add to fhe number; lion, secretory, Mr. E. A. Cahill; assistant secretary, Mr. W. S. Wilson; hon. treasurer, Mr. M. Withers; hon. medical officer. Dr. J. A. Watson; delegate to Auckland Centre, New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, Mr. J. A. Walker: delegate to Auckland Water Polo Control Board. Mr. W. Wilson: club captain. Mr. 1). filing; lady captain. Miss B. Buttle; handicapper. Mr. IT. Moore: committre, Mrs. E. Johnson, Misses B. Buttle and M. Murray, and Messrs. K. E. Sutcliffe, J. C. Mitchell. R. T. Skinner. .T, R. Wi>lker. N. TT. Noble and W. S. Wilson; water polo selector. Mr. M. Withers; social committee. Misses P. Buttle and M. Murray, Dr. Watson and Messrs. W. S. Wilson and M. S. Withers.
