PRE-PAYMENT METERS
DOMESTIC ELECTRIC SUPPLY BOARD ACCEPTS TENDER Tenders for pre-payment meters for domestic electric current were received by the Auckland Electric-Power Board at a meeting yesterday, when it was decided to purchase meters costing £3 Os 9d each. The type accepted are of small dimensions to fit on existing switchboards in place of the meters already installed, and they have the same type of dial. The decision to purchase this type of meter was reached by the board in September, when the general manager, Mr. It. H. Baitley, reported .that the first stock of time switches had been quickly placed among consumers and there was a waiting list of persons wishing to obtain them. The board then decided to obtain a further 500 meters.
