NEW ZEALANDERS AT HOME
[FROM OUR OWN COF,RESPONDENT] LONDON, Sept. 30 Sir Harold Beaucnamp is at his headquarters in Chelsea with his son-in-law and daughter, Captain and Sirs, C. SI. Renshaw. Sir Harold will leave for New Zealand by the Rangitata on October 20. Sir. and Sirs. J. SI. Hardcastlo (Auckland) have concluded their stay in Britain. They found timo to fit in a week in Paris, travelling each way very comfortably by the Imperial Airways Service. This morning they left Euston for Liverpool to connect with the Duchess of Richmond for Canada. On November 9 they will leave Vancouver by the Aorangi. The Air Ministry held examinations last June m foreign languages at Home and abroad. The results include the name of Flying Oflicer A. H. Slarsack (Auckland), who has passed in colloquial Arabic. Sir. L. A. Paish British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, reached London recently from Ottawa, 110 isi still on leave from the Department; of Overseas Trade, but during the per:od October 13 to 20 ho will bo there to interview manufacturers and merchants interested in the export of United Kingdom goods to New Zealand. At a later date Sir. Paish will visit a number of .industrial centres in the provinces. The London board of the Batik of New Zealand entertained the Hon. W. Downie Stewart, Minister of Finance for New Zealand, and Sir. A. D. Park, Secretary to the Treasury, at luncheon this week. Mr. Cecil Lubbock, chairman of the London board of the bank, presided, and among those present were well-known bankers and others prominent in financial circles in London.
