VARIETY OF ATTRACTIONS TROTTING CLUB MEETING The spring meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club this afternoon at Alexandra Park is among the principal sports fixtures for the week-end. The Auckland Cricket Association will continue the senior matches which started last Saturday, and, 111 addition, junior matches and games under the control of the Suburban Association will be commenced. Many of the bowling clubs in Auckland are holding the usual weekly competitions, and others will be occupied with official openings. The golf clubs have various finals and matches arranged for the week-end. At Middlemore the final of the championships will be played off, there is a group handicap final and a medal foursomes game at Titirapgi, a consolation bogey at Maungakiekie, and Canadian foursomes at Akarana.. The Papatoetoe Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club is holding an official opening function at 1 p.m., when running, cycling and field events will take place. The annual sports of Sacred Heart College will commence on the college grounds at 1.30 p.m., and the Auckland Girls' Athletic Association has arranged preliminary heats and a. drill rehearsal for the annual sports. The Wakatere Canoe Club commences the season with an iifficial opening at Narrow Neck this afternoon. At lawn teunis the Parnell Club's jubilee will be celebrated. The rowing season will commence with trial fours at the North Shore Club and the West End Club. In the spoil. of cycling, the Auckland Club has arranged a final road race of 25 mile?. A wrestling match between George Walker and Harry Mamos will be decided this evening.
