TURN IN FORTUNE
WRITER'S PLAYS ACCEPTED TWO IN THIRTY-SIX HOURS . A new dramatist, Mr. Phillip Leaver, recently had the distinction of seeing two of his plays produced in the West End within about a fortnight of each other, j Mr. Leaver, who has acted on the London stage under the name of Phillip Brandon,, and is 28, is the author of " Tomorrow Will be Friday," the new comedy in which Miss Marie Tempest appeared at the Haymarket Theatre on August 23. On September 6 another comedy from his pen, entitled " The Way to the Stars," was produced at Wyndham's Theatre, with Mr. Leslie Banks, who recently returned from a lengthy visit to New York, in the principal role. " Altogether I have written five plays," Mr. Leaver said in an interview, " but until a few weeks ago I had had no luck with any of them.
