THIS AND THAT
Bread dries if exposed to tho air in hot weather. It should bo wrapped in damp cloth and kept in a dark place. A fork should never be stuck into a steak or chop that is being fried or grilled, as it lots tho juico out. There is nothing better than onions for removing rust from steel. Rub tho rusty part with- an onion and leave the juice on for 24 hours, then polish the steel with bath brick and turpentine. Yolks of eggs loft after tho whites have been used will keep for several days if covered with cold water. The flavour of the mint sauce is improved if a little boiling water is poured over the mint and sugar before the vinegar is added. In this way the full essence of the mint is out. Ham retains its full flavour if, instead of being boiled, it is covered with a dough made of flour and water and baked in the oven. Bake smaller pieces of ham in a casserole with a little water.
