MANUREWA
The Parish Hnll, Manurewa, was the scene of a highly successful concert and daijce held on Labour night, under the auspices of the newly-formed Jellicoe Park Tennis Club. The committee, under the direction of the president, Mr. W. F. Arthur, and the secretary, Mr. L. G. Edwards, had transformed the stage into a model studio decorated with streamers in the club's colours, royal bltie and gold. Items were contributed as follows: Songs: Mrs. R. Aitkenhead, Mrs. Guthrie, Miss Giesen, Mr. Whelan, Mr. Kimber. Miss Jean Porteous. Instrumental: Pianoforte solo, Miss Black; clarionet, Mr. Alan Johnstone; xylophone, Mr. Eade. A short sketch was 'given by Messrs. Edwards and Sanderson, and 'a novelty item by Messrs. Christopher and Sanderson was much appreciated. Sirs. Johnston and Mr. L. Montgomcrie were the accompanists. Music for the dance was provided by Mr. L. Montgomcrie (piano) and Mr. Eade (xylophone).
