THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE AN EASING IN VALUES With few exceptions leading issues eased in value on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. The market was fairly active, but in most sections sellers were forced to make concessions. Government loans were not affected by the general trend and buying support was increased for several issues. The 1937 5j per cent September bonds changed hands <s2s 6d higher at £IOO ss, and offers were 2s 6d higher at £IOO 2s 6d. Buyers also sought the 1937 per cent September slock 2s 6d higher at this figure, and a sale at £IOO 5s was 5s higher. The 1937 per cent February stock was done unchanged at £IOO, after which offers rose by 5s to this figure without result. For 1937 5j per cent February bonds offers were 7s 6d higher at £IOO 2s 6d. There was an advance of 5s to £94 15s jn offers, for 1939 per cent bonds and stock, and a parcel of the latter was transferred 7s 6d higher at £95. Bank and insurance shares were sought 011 a lower basis and the majority of sales took place at a reduced figure. After a quiet period, during which values have declined, Australasias changed hands 4s lower at £9 17s 6d. Commercials of Australia were sought Id lower at 14s sd, and holders quoted 2d lower at 14s Bd. In the absence of offirs, Unions were available 2s lower at £7 18:5. Sellers of Nationals of New Zealand reduced their quotations Is to £4 Is and a sale, was made Is 3d lower at £4. New Zcalands were done unchanged at 45s 9d, with no change in levels. Business in insurance was confined to a transfer of New Zealands 3d lower at 43s 6d, with a reduction in quotations of 5d to 43s 8d and in offers of 3d to 43s 3d. South British were sought 3d higher at 56s 6d and holders responded with a quotation of 57s 6d. \ In the other sections only minor changes in levels developed. A parcel of Auckland Gas changed hands Id higher at 21s 3d and Devonport Ferries were released 3d higher at 18s 3d. Offers for Wilsons Cements advanced 3d to 31s, and a lot was secured 3d lower at 31s 3d. In mining interest was centred chiclly in Waihis, which advanced 011 sale 4d to 18s this price being established after three transactions 2d higher at 17s lOd. Golden Dawns were placed 2d higher at 4s 10d, with a corresponding rise in levels. CLOSING QUOTATIONS
