It is I lie practice of the league to send parcel)! *>f clothing, toys and books every Christinas to scillcr.v their wives and families in the hark blocks, and the party last night was held to gather in n colletlion of toys for the small hoys, Karli member who attended brought with her a toy for this purpose and the result was a splendid collection which will bring joy to the hearts of a large number of children at Christmas time. In keeping with the type of party were the decorations, which comprised toys and animals cut from paper and artistically designed and painted, while (lie various items tendered also had either toys or animals as their theme. Several games and competitions were organised, and these, together with a very delightful programme, assisted in passing a very happy evening. Those who contributed items were Miss Hay de Castro, Miss Clair ProssCr, and Miss Lois White, who sung; Miss Enfi hangsford, who gave pianoforte solos; and Miss Louise Jourdaine, who recited. Miss Mowbray, president of the Victoria League, and Mrs. L. S. Riekorby, chairman of the girls' committee, were present and worn each presented with ft bouquet. The hostesses were Miss N. E. Price, Miss .lean Moir, Miss Frances Vinson, Miss Gwen White and Miss R. Waterhouse.
