Webber, of England; Mrs. Chaney, of Wanganui; Mrs. E. Wallis, Gisborne; Miss Bethel, Wellington. The Misses A. M. and E. Brooker, of England, who have been staying in 'Jauranga, for the past five months, left, on Wednesday for Hamilton, en route for New Plymouth. Miss Jane Mander, the New Zealand authoress, to Auckland by the Rangitiki yesterday after an absence of 20 years abroad. She is staying indefinitely with her father, Mr. F. Mander, of Ranfurly Road, Epsom. A benefit danco was organised by the Okaihau Football Club for the purpose of providing special treatment for Mr. D. O'Callaghan, who received head injuries last football season. The net profit amounted to £l9. Mrs. D. Checscman's orchestra provided excellent music. Mrs. A. Bislev and Mrs. N. E. BlomJield, president and secretary respectively of the Hamilton branch of the Plunket Society, are visiting Auckland in connection with the Plunket conference. Mrs. Ewart Brown is another Hamilton representative who is attending the conference. A presentation was made to Mrs. Dale at the final meeting of the Bethlehem branch of the Workers' Educational Association, Wairoa. Miss Campion, in making the presentation, made appreciative references to the able services rendered by Mrs. Dale as secretary for the past three years. The fairy cantata entitled "Redcap in Fairyland" was given in the St. Peter's Parish Hall at Takapuna last evening. The proceeds are to be divided between the Welfare League and St. Peter's Parish Hall, in which the rehearsals have been held since last May. The producers were ills. Spiers, Mrs. Edmonds and Miss Marv Nathan. The final of a series of monthly dances given by the Mangere East School Committee, in aid of school funds, was held in the Mangere East Hall on Wednesday evening. Excellent dance music was supplied by Miss Seales' trio. A "500" and bridge tournament was held in the supper room. Mr. Chapman and Mrs. Solomon won at bridge and Mr. Webb and Mrs. Knight were the winners of "500."
