LORD HOWE ISLAND RADIO The value oF the wireless installation on Lord ITowc Island was proved recently when a visitor from Sydney slipped in a boat, and fell on tho anchor, which pierced his abdomen. Treatment of tho injury was beyond the skill of tho nurse on Hip island. An appeal for help was picked up by the f,a Perouso station, and passed on to the Lord Howe Island Board of Control, in the Chief Secretary's Department in Sydney, at whose request the steamer Canadian Victor, which was 160 miles south-west of the island, went there. Dr. Mooro landed and performed an operation, and tho patient is doing well.
