UNEMPLOYED PROBLEM

WAITOMO COUNTY CAMPS FURTHER MEN FROM AUCKLAND [from our own'correspondent] TE KUITI, Thursday A further batch of men has arrived from Auckland to go into the- eight-men camps under the control of the Waitorno County Council. Two more of these camps have been established, absorbing 16 of the new men. One of the camps is at Puketutu, the men being engaged on farm development work, and the other on the Totoro Road, where road repair work is to be carried out. The rest of the men will be sent to the other camps to make up the full quota, some of the original men having gone back to Auckland to take up various positions. The County Council now has 10 camps, each of eight men. In addition, the c<?uncil has under its control four farm improvement schemes. The camps are working satisfactorily, the only difficulty being the changing personnel.
