GREAT GROWTH OF GRASS INCREASE IN PRODUCTION [from our. own correspondent] THAMES, Thursday The mild and dry winter and favourable spring have caused an abnormal growth of grass on tho Ilauraki Plains and increased slocking has failed to keep pace with tho prolific growth. Tho fertility of the area under favourablo conditions has drawn much comment from travellers across the plains. -All the butter and cheese factories aro working at capacity, and the production of butter-fab has increased by about 20 per cent. If tho present favourable conditions continue the output from tho Hauraki Plains will reach record figures this season. Tho good dairying season has had its reflection in the spending power of the farmer and substantial increases in the turnovers of tho Thames business community aro reported.
