MAHAKIPAWA OPERATIONS NEW PUMP INSTALLED The directors of Mahakipawa Goldfield» (Marlborough) visited the mine at Havelock South last week and conferred with tho manager on the difficulty encountered with water in the north drive. Subsequently it was announced that an electric pump' of ample capacity would be installed. The effect of the pump would be to improve tho output in the north workings and also relieve the air compressors, so that the pneumatic tools could again be operated, thus increasing the output in the whole mine. The directors considered that the difficulties which the mine manager had been experiencing in the north account for the recent low return. Operations at tho mine were progressing satisfactorily, and the directors considered th* general outlook quito good.
