RIFLE SHOOTING
AKARANA CLUB'S SERIES JUNIOR'S GOOD PERFORMANCE The Akarana Rifle Club fired the third shoot of tho first trophy series over the ranges of 200 and 300 yards at the Penrose riflo range on Saturday afternoon, for trophies presented by Messrs. F. W. Combes, E. J. C. Reston and J. R. Draffin. The re-cently-organised junior section of tho club made its initial appearance at tho club's headquarters, when 10 shots and two sighters were fired over the ranges of 200 and 300 yards. The juniors were taken in hand by tho more experienced shotß, and keen rivalry was displayed. The object of tho club in forming tho section is to further the interest in rifle shooting in Auckland. The boys are mostly recruited from the Mount Albert Grammar School, and the training received with the club will be beneficial when, they are called upon to defend the much-coveted Earl Roberts Imperial Challenge trophy. L. A. Gribble put up a remarkably good shoot of two 47's. Trophy points were awarded to the three top men in their respectivp sections. Details are as follows: Section A (trophy presented by Mr. F.
