AMATEUR OPERATICS
SUCCESS AT HAMILTON [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Saturday Great success attended tho Hamilton Amateur Operatic Society's presentation of "The Belle of New York," which concluded a season of five nights at the Theatre Royal last evening. Great enthusiasm marked the final performance, the players being deluged with flowers and boxes of sweets. The aggregate attendance totalled about 4000, a record for the society. In expressing the appreciation of the society for the public's support, the president, Mr. T. B. Booth, said the expense of staging the production had been considerable, but the splendid attendances would result in a good profit, the first earned by the society for three seasons. The producer, Mr. A. E. Manning, paid a tribute to the work of the performers.
