CHRIST'S COLLEGE
CENTENARY ENDOWMENT PROGRESS OF THE FUND Considerable progress with the scheme by which the Christ's College Old Boys' Association hopes to raise £30,000 as an endowment fund for the school was reported at the annual meeting of the association in Christchurch last week. Mr. Donald Dobson, chairman of the trustees for the fund, said chat the trustees wanted the fund to be a gift to the school from every old boy, and not merely from a few. He thought that there should be at least 1500 subscribers. Although the main object was to get as many endowment assurance policies as possible taken out, the smallest of which was only for £25, the trustees wished to make it clear that donations of any amount would be received. The report stated that 186 policies had been received, the total amount assured being £12,270. Many more old boys and friends of the school ha/3 yet to be called on, and it was confidently expected, in view of the splendid response during this year of depression, with a return to prosperity many more would join the ranks of subscribers. The capital will revert to the school in 1950, the fund having been provided by a series of endowment assurance policies maturing at that date.
