SEAGULLS ATTACK SHEEP
Seagulls -have bee# causing damage among lambs and ewes in _ Ashburton County in recent weeks, displaying a ferocity that is akin only to that attributed to the kea. One morning recently a Hinds farmer fnund two gulls attacking a ewe and it? lamb before 6 o clock. The eyes of both ttimals had been picked out when he came across the gnUs, "which were then attacking the sheep behind the ears. Several other reports of a similar nature have been made, and magpies are also stated to be attaching the eyes sheep. M
