GAY SCENE AT PIRATE SHIP Tho annual ball of Lodgo Takapuna, 202, held at the Pirate Ship at Milford on Saturday evening, proved a highly successful function. A short musical programme was given at tho commencement of the evening, when songs wero sung by Miss W. Hill, Mr. W. Mellor and Mr. Warbrick, accompanied by Mr. Birtley. The dance music was played by Bartley's Pirate Ship Orchestra, and several old-time dances, including tho military three step, woro enjoyed. Supper was served upstairs, where tho tables wero decorated with bowls of anemones and , other spring flowers. A largo ladies' committee was responsible for the arrangements, assisted by tho members of the lodge. Among those present were :-A-Mrs. J. A.
