SOCIAL CLUB BALL A novelty scheme of decoration com> pletely transformed the interior of tho Otahuhu Public Hall on Wednesday evening, when tho first annual ball of tho Passenger Transport Social Club was held. The evening was a great success and was ample reward for tho energetic preparations and organisation of the committee responsible for tho arrangements, namely, Messrs. Roy Fisher, 11. P. Lovoll, R. Peterson, E. Emmerton and J. O'Hara. The programme was in the hands of Messrs. R. Carter and V. Brown. Music was supplied by an orchestra und<sr tho baton of Mr. A. Clarke. A feature of the decorative scheme was a replica of a passenger bus in the club colours, orange and black. It was lighted throughout and tho 6trong headlights were employed with spot-light effect. During the evening Captain H. L. Garland, manager of the company, welcomed the guest 3 and apologised for tho unavoidable absence of Mr. N. Spencer, chairman of directors. Among those present were:—The Mayoress, Mrs. H. T. Clements, who wore Royal blue satin and panne velvet coat; Mrs. H. L. Garland, floral crepe de chine with old rose coatee; Mrs. J. McCrory, white embossed lace georgette and black coatee; Mrs. R. F.~ Carter, black satin and net trimming; Mrs. C. F. Emmerton, rose embroidered taffeta; Mrs. M. J. Barrett, cinnamon georgette; Mrs. C. Kay, black crepe de chine, embossed georgettee coatee; Mrs. Matthias, black satin; Mrs. J. Nicholson, black georgetto with lace; Mrs. E. Jeffries, bluo georgette; Mrs. C. Nicholson, green georgette; Mrs. Nixon, black satin beaute; Mrs. G. Skelton, floral taffeta; Mrs. S. Koyes, black georgette with lace coatee; Mrs. J. Porter moonlight blue crepe de chine; Mrs. J. Banks, green lace over satin; Mrs. A. McLaren, chenille velvet net and crepe de chine; Mrs. IT. C. Littler, figured ninon; Mrs. J. Durbridge, 'blue satin beaute; Mrs. A. Nesbit, blue satin with lace; Mrs. A. Braddon, ivory lace on silk lame; Mrs. H. Jackson, black and gold lame lace; Mrs. M. Brown, jade green satin; Mrs. R.
