NEW COASTAL ROAD
OPOTIKI TO GISBORNE COMPLETION THIS SUMMER [by teleorafh—OWN correspondent] GISBORNE, Saturday Members of two Auckland Automobile Association patrols, who have been placing signposts on the new coastal road from Te Araroa to Opotiki, state that the low level bridge across the Kereu River will be completed in about three weeks' time, and a start will then be made with the bridging of the Raukokore River, thus obviating two of the worst fords on the rcute. . It is expected that a through road from Opotiki to Gisborne, via the coast, will be provided during the summer mqnths, and it is believed the route will be very popular with motorists.
