OLD FOLKS' DAY
BAPTIST TABERNACLE One of the best of the many "old folks? day" gatherings at the Baptist Taber< liacle was held on Saturday afternoon* The main portion of the church was reV served for those over 70 years of ags» and it was filled to capacity, friends undef that age being accommodated in the gal« lerv.
Singing by the Tabernacle chorus choi? and the Sunday school children and an interesting address by the Rev, Raymond Preston, a Yorkshire evangelist', made th« afternoon a memorable one. Mr. Arthur E. Wilson presided at the organ and Mrs* Brame Clark at the piano. The presentations of bouquets, always a feature of the day, brought forward many men and women aspirants to the honour.
The Rev. Joseph W. Ivemp, under whose auspices this gathering has achieved such popularity, presided. Delegations were present from the Cost-lev Home, th* Veterans' Home and the Mental Hospital. Tho old folk were carried to and from the church in a fleet of motor-cars under the charge of Mr. W. Avery.
