CRASH INTO POLE
MOTOR-CAR WRECKED THREE OCCUPANTS INJURED PARTY RETURNING FROM DANCE [BY TKI.EGII.VFH —OWN COP RESPONDENT ] GISBORNE, Friday The driver and two companions were injured when a five-seater touring, car crashed into a pole on the main North Road near Waerengaahika at about one o'clock this morning. The car-was wrecked. The car was driven by Mr. John Ernest Coleman, who had one leg severely cut about the knee. One passenger, Miss Mary Ancell, was cut about the face by glass from the shattered windscreen. Both Mr. Coleman and Miss Ancell arc now m hospital. Mr. Lan Beattie, who was in the back seat, received a cut on the head, but was able to return homo after receiving medical attention. The fourth occupant, Miss Eunice Davis, was not hurt. The party was returning from a dance at Te Karaka and after turning a corner the car struck a. telegraph pole. Assistance was quickly forthcoming and a doctor and the ambulance were telephoned for, Mr. Coleman and Miss Ance 1 later being removed to the Cook Hospital.
