PAST SEASON AT PAPAKURA [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] PAPAKURA Friday Tho fact that Mr. J. Molloy. chairman oL tho management committee of the Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association, and Mr. Ball, assistant-secretary, were present at the annual meeting of the Papakura Cricket Club added great interest to a wellattended meeting presided over by Mr. G. Wilson. The financial statement revealed a largo credit balance and was adopted along with the secretary's report. Trophies were presented as follows:—Batting averago, C. S. Beechey; bowling average, H. Brooks; best fielder, V. Williams; most improved player, I. Wilson; most catches, R. Hammond. Several offers of trophies were received, and four new members elected.

A. W. Mclvor, A. Willis, T. H. Brooks, E. D. McLennan. T. F. Snell, Dr. Lock: club captain. Mr. G. Wilson; secretary. Mr. S. A. S, Smith; treasurer, Mr. V. Williams; auditor, Mr. I. Wilson; committee, Messrs. W. K. Francis, jun., S. A. Smith, V. Williams, G. Wilson, C. S. Beechey. and C. Ross; delegate. Mr. Ball. BIRKDALE CLUB Tho greatly improved standard in batting, bowling and fielding was referred to with satisfaction at the annual meeting of tho B'irkdale Crioket Club, and special mention was made of the outstanding performances of R. V. Shepherd and B. Ireland. Shepherd took over 100 wickets and made' over 1000 runs during the_ past season, while Ireland had been conspicuous at wicketkeeping. The club was represented by L.' Cooper in the Auckland junior representative team. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. G. Mills, Mayor of Birkenhead; president. Mr. T. M. Shepherd; secretary, Mr. A. Benfoll; treasurer, Mr. F. Osmond; committee, Messrs. L. Cooper, H. Shepherd. R. Sterling; club captain, Mr. F. Osmond; vice-oaptain, Mr. B. Ireland; delegate to Auckland Cricket Association, Mr. H. Shepherd.
