A MIRACULOUS ESCAPE
-'Bear Miss Morton.-It was with a sigh sf relief that we all skipped away from jichool for a fortnight's glorious vacation. Once at home books, pencils and pens' were thrown 'aside, and Oh! what a joyous teeli.ng—no lessons for two weeks. I began my holiday by working in the garden Prepar- • „ A, and on Wednesday niffht. mother and I decided to go. with some friends to an evening's entertainment. We Sent an enjoyable evening but on our borne we had the misfortune of being the rkfims of an accident. The car m which we were riding struck a telegraph pole. As I write of the incident I marvel .at our miraculous escape from death or inirries for had the vehicle not collided with the pole, we would have dashed into a deep ditch, but. I am glad to say that we estaped with only a few bruises and a shaking The following day, after I had recovered from the Bhock. my sister and I decided to cycle to our grandparents . where we intended to stay for a few dajs Micdless to say we thoroughly enjoyed the lide rin such a typical spring day. On reaching our destination we were disappointed at | finding that nobody was at home, and tho floors being locked we were compelled to await our grandparents' return before we could e'iter, A few happy days were spent tit grum.y's and on Sunday we returned home, with a feeling o£ regret at having to leave no Ff>on. —Your sincere pen-friend.
