IN THE LOOKING GLASS.
When you look into the looking glass you see your image. Have you ever asked yourself how this happens? The light from your face strikes upon tho glass and is reflected or thrown backagain. This is because the back of tho glass is covered with quicksilver, which prevents the light from your face going through. Ifc is because the surface is smooth that, you get a perfect reflection. Were the glass rough, the light from your face would be sent back so broken up that it would not make a clear image, but one like you see when you look into clear rippling water.
