RUGBY "LADIES' NIGHT"
FUNCTION AT NORTHCOTE The annual " ladies' night " under the auspices of the Northcote and Birkenhead Rugby Union Football Club, held in the King's Theatre at Northcote, was largely attended and proved most enjoyable. The function was organised by a ladies' committee, comprising Mesdames R. B. Brown, J. W. Lethbridge, A. W. Millar, A. J. Grant and A. J. Hurley, who were' responsible for the attractive decorations of the hall and for the excellent supper. The secretarial duties were undertaken by Mr. A. Nicholson. The dance music was provided by Mr. A. Coughlin's orchestra, and the floor arrangements were in charge of Mr. G. H. Edwards. The president, Mr. R. B. Brown, presided. Items included songs by Messrs. D. McKensie and D. Lunny, cornet solos by Mr. T. Blomfield, elocutionary numbers by Messrs. N. E. Heath, Rex Yates and J. Finlayson, instrumental selections by Ingall's Hawaiian orchestra, and illusions by " Kardo." The accompaniments were played by Mrs, A, J, Hurley. Among those present were Mrs. R. B.' Brown, Mrs. R.
