SHOP WINDOW BROKEN
DRUNKEN MAN CHARGED "I do not remember anything about it," said James Edward Duff, aged 61, labourer, when charged before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday with committing mischief by wilfully breaking a window pane valued at £2 10s, the property of Frederick Clauson. He admitted a further charge of drunkenness. Detect ive-Scrgeant Mcllugh said that accused fell through a shop window in Victoria Street West while in a drunken condition. On the mischief charge Duff was ordered to make good the damage, in default seven days' imprisonment, and on the drunkenness count he was convicted and discharged. A fortnight was allowed in which to make restitution.
